American Volunteer Firefighters Committee PAC
The American Volunteer Firefighters Commitee PAC, an initiative of the UCVF PAC, is a non-party political organization (not a charity) established and regulated under section 527 of the tax code. Our goal is to advocate for the election of more Candidates that support the efforts of our Nation's firefighters and share the same agenda.
Across towns and rural communities, volunteer firefighters stand as quiet protectors—ordinary people who step up in extraordinary ways. From battling blazing homes to pulling victims from wrecked vehicles, they answer every alarm with courage and compassion, often placing themselves in harm’s way for the sake of others. But despite their unwavering commitment, these everyday heroes are frequently left out of the policy conversation, and the departments they serve face chronic shortages in funding, staffing, and recognition.
This lack of political attention has left many fire departments struggling to meet growing demands. It's time to change that. With your continued support, we can push for meaningful reforms that not only improve public safety but also ensure our volunteer firefighters receive the respect, resources, and representation they've long been denied.
The American Volunteer Firefighters Commitee PAC is dedicated to enhancing the working conditions of volunteer firefighters by fostering positive public perception and supporting the election of political leaders who advocate for the interests of volunteer firefighters across the country.
Firefighters face intense physical danger, but the emotional and financial burdens they carry are often overlooked. To truly support those who protect us, we must champion policies that address their full range of needs—both on and off the front lines.
One critical step is securing access to mental health services tailored to the unique challenges of firefighting. Counseling programs and peer support networks can provide a lifeline for those coping with trauma and stress, yet too few departments have the funding or infrastructure to offer them.
We must also address compensation disparities. Federal firefighters, in particular, continue to work under pay systems that don’t reflect the danger and dedication their jobs require. They deserve wages that match the vital role they play in public safety.
And as wildfires grow more frequent and destructive, wildland firefighters remain under-recognized and underpaid. Legislation focused on fair compensation, better working conditions, and long-term job security is long overdue for this specialized and essential group.
Change won’t happen unless we speak up. Your advocacy can help push these issues to the forefront, ensuring our firefighters receive the respect, resources, and protection they’ve earned through their service.
It's crucial that we advocate for legislation that supports the well-being and fair treatment of our Volunteer Firefighters.
